for a more detailed sports plan have a look at http://www.uni-lueneburg.de/hochschulsport/bilder/content/aktuelles/Programm%20FE.pdf
also we have several private fitness studios in Lüneburg
please contact them by yourself if you are interested in taking some classes, for sure we can assist you before closing a contract e.g.!!

and for some mental sports: German classes.
Perhaps you already know the famous German Volkshochschule (Public University)
You can find the winter program either at:
www.vhs.lueneburg.de or perhaps in your appartement it is coming with normal post.
We can discuss your options on Wednesday night :-)
Considering university classes
- they are held in the morning during your working time and (afaIk) more expensive as well
- only for students as well
- sorry!!!
Enjoy the sun (I also suggest to take a bath in river Ilmenau...) !!!
See ya on Wednesday at the Stint!!!

Hamburg Weekend Fotos
There is not that many photos - perhaps Zhanar has some more... just to get an impression of the Hamburger DOM and the morning after at the Fischmarkt, where we had some coffee and Fischbrötchen :-)

Hamburg Day

Hello everyone!!!
You'd like to explore Hamburg a little bit?
Then come to the train station in Lüneburg on August 17th at 10.15 am!
From there we'll take the train to Hamburg Hauptbahnhof where we'll arrive at about 11 am.
In Hamburg we're going to do some sight seeing during the day. Some examples for sights that we could see are the town hall, Jungfernstieg, Michalis church, Speicherstadt ("storage city"), the harbor, the ancient tunnel beneath the river Elbe, the magnificent Park "Planten un Bloomen" etc. There are also various museums that are for sure worth being visited (Hall of Art, Museum of Hamburg's History, Museum ships "Cap San Diego", "Rickmers Rickmer" and "Schaarhörn", Museum of Spices, Miniature Land, Hamburg Dungeon, Planetarium and many, many more!)
You decide what we'll visit!
In the evening we could then have dinner in one of the nice restaurants in the Portuguese district close to the harbor of Hamburg.
Afterwards (or also before having dinner, as you wish!) we could take some rides at the Hamburg Dom Festival, the funfair of Hamburg!
And in the end of the day we could go to Reeperbahn, Hamburgs party district! There we can either stay just a little bit to get an impression of it and take the last train from Hamburg to Lüneburg at 11.55 pm, or we can party all night, stroll over the famous Hamburg fish market on Sunday morning and take the first train back to Lüneburg at 5.43 am.
It's completely up to you and we can decide everything spontaneously!
Would be nice if you let us know before whether you want to join us because we'd like to make a reservation in one of these Portuguese restaurants since they are really full on summer weekends!
So, hope to see you there!!

Trip to Berlin!!!
Hello dear all!Today, I booked our hotel in Berlin!
And so here's the information about our trip:
Participants:
- Jana
- Marcin
- Sarah
- Sherif
- Zhanar
Way to Berlin:
- Departure: We'll meet on August 11th at 5.15 am (!) in or in front of the train station building in Lüneburg. Jana: You have to take the train to Lüneburg departing at 4.57 am at Hamburg Hauptbahnhof! We'll get on this train in Lüneburg, either. It would be good if you took a seat in the fisrt waggon to make it easier for us to find you.
- Arrival in Berlin: After changing the trains in Uelzen and Magdeburg-Neustadt we'll arrive in Berlin at 9.43 am.
Accomodation:
I booked accommodation for you at "A&O Hostel City West", Joachimstalerstraße 1-3, Berlin-Charlottenburg. The hotel is rather in the center of the city, directly on the opposite side of the station "Zoologischer Garten", which used to be the main station before 2005. It is just 3 stations by city railway away from Berlin Hauptbahnhof and located at the same underground line as is my mother's house, where I will stay over night (I'm sorry to not invite you to sleep at my mother's house but her apartment is really small...)
I booked beds in a mixed 8 bed dorm. The price for staying at the hostel doesn't include neither breakfast, nor linen, nor towels!
About breakfast: No problem! There are more than enough places in Berlin where we can find something for breakfast :o)
About the linen: You can either bring your own bed linen to the hotel or you can rent linen for 3€
About the towels: Well, these you'll have to bring by yourself.
Programe in Berlin:
Well, it's up to you! Get yourself informed in the internet what things there are to see in Berlin.
Marcin had the wish to go to Pergamon Museum, Sherif would like to go to the Egyptian Museum. I think both will be possible :o)
Also, there is a variety of free guided tours through Berlin (walking tours and bike tours!). That means that you don't have to pay anything to the guide (not even if you do the bike tour where a bike is provided to you!). You may just pay a tip to the guide after the tour but just if you feel that the tour was worth paying a tip.
I've already done such a tour in Amsterdam and it was just amazing! It was the best guided city tour I've ever had! That's why I think we should include such a tour in our program!
Departure in Berlin for going back:
I'll stay with my mother in Berlin for some more days but you guys have to options to go back on Sunday, August 12th: Either with the train that departs in Berlin at 5.22 pm and arrives in Lüneburg at 10.22 pm with just two changes of the train in between, or the train departing at 5.55 pm in Berlin and arriving in Lüneburg at 11.25 pm with 5 changes in between.
It's up to you.
Prices:
- costs for train: nothing! IAESTE pays!
- costs for lodging: 10 € per person
- public transport in Berlin: between 6.25 € and 7.80 € per person for whole-day-tickets for both days (depending if Marion and Ferrán will come with us or not)
See ya all!
Sarah

Stadtfest Lüneburg!
Hey dear trainees! If you're going to be in town this weekend and if you're not having any other plans by now you should have a stroll over the "Stadtfest Lüneburg" (city festival of Lüneburg) which starts on Friday and lasts until Sunday. You can find some information about it here (unfortunately only in German but you can download the program for the festival there)
There'll be different 9 stages spread all over the inner city:
- Holsten stage (market place)
- Jever stage (Am Sande, in front of the church "St. Johannis")
- Mälzer stage (Am Sande, in front of that black building of the "Industrie- und Handelskammer)
- Wine festival stage (garden of the town hall)
- "Park-Lokal" stage (Clamart Park)
- Franziskaner stage (garden of the Restaurant "Krone", Heiligengeiststraße)
- Bona Vita stage (yard of the music school, An der Münze (next to the bank))
- Glockenhof stage (next to C&A)
- Medley yard stage (Am Sande, in the yard of "Medley")
If you want to experience once some Bavarian stuff you should have a look at the Franziskaner stage (... if you're kind of masochistic ;o) )
On Friday and Saturday night from 7 pm on there are also concerts at "Jekyll&Hyde" (next to St. Johannis) which could be good (but I can't tell for sure).
So, see you maybe there!
Greets,
Sarah

Meeting on Friday, June 1st
Since on Friday, June 1st, two new trainees will arrive in Lüneburg we would like to meet with everyone at 8 pm at "Stadtgespräch" (address: Am Sande 25) to get to know each other, to have a drink or maybe also dinner, to talk etc.
See you there!
Sarah
